High Ground was formed in 1995 and plays a mix of traditional and contemporary bluegrass with a good blend of Gospel. Their influences range from the Stanley Brothers, Bill Monroe, Lester & Earl to the new groups making music today. When you come to one of their shows you never know what songs you might hear… but two things are certain, you will hear some very good music and you will have a good time.

Doris Tresemer: rhythm guitar, lead and harmony vocals. sings from her heart as though she has lived it. A fan once commented “she has a voice as strong as a buttermilk milkshake… but as smooth and sweet as honey.” Doris and her husband Steve live in Norman, OK where in their spare time, they tend a garden and raise horses.

Billy Perry: banjo, lead and harmony vocals.  A nationally recognized musician with a diverse and very extended experience in bluegrass music; both on stage and in the recording studio.  Billy has refined his playing style to a remarkable level of skill and taste.

Kim Tucker: lead and rhythm guitar, lead and harmony vocals. Kim has loved and played bluegrass music since the age of nine. His lead work is tasteful but can flash when he needs to. He sings with conviction and invites the audience to be part of the show. He lives in Newcastle, OK where he raises horses.

Paul Sechrist: upright bass and lead and harmony vocals. Paul doesn’t say much in a crowd but his bass playing speaks volumes. He lays down rock solid bass lines and will go with you out in left field and show you the way back.

Ron Mashore: Mandolin, lead and harmony vocals. Ron brings an infectious enthusiasm to his music. While in South Carolina, he concentrated on traditional Bluegrass. As a member of an acoustic group in France, he found some “interesting opportunities” to broaden his repertoire. His criterion for the music is that it must be “really good” and have lots of harmony lines. Ron and his wife Penni live in Jones, OK with their Quarter Horses.
